Third Eye Blind
Third Eye Blind formed in San Francisco in 1993 when Stephan Jenkins connected with guitarist Kevin Cadogan, a Joe Satriani-trained player who co-wrote ten of the fourteen songs on the band's debut album. That debut, released April 8, 1997 on Elektra Records, went six-times platinum and produced five radio hits. The recording process was obsessive: Jenkins and Cadogan ran 20 to 30 amplifiers simultaneously in the studio, blending them to build layered guitar tones that radio listeners absorbed without knowing why they sounded so good.
