The defining keyboard sound of the yacht rock era. The Fender Rhodes electric piano appears on virtually every significant smooth rock and jazz fusion record of the 1970s and early 1980s. Its warm, bell-like tone with natural tremolo is the sonic center of the genre. Donald Fagen, David Paich, and Michael McDonald all used Rhodes as their primary keyboard instrument.
