The Eagles formed in Los Angeles in 1971 and became one of the defining bands of the California rock sound. Built around the harmonies of Don Henley and Glenn Frey and the guitar interplay of Joe Walsh and Don Felder, the band produced Hotel California, one of the most successful albums in history. Their Greatest Hits 1971–1975 is one of the two best-selling albums of all time in the United States.
