George Thorogood built one of the most recognizable sounds in American blues-rock with the most unassuming weapon imaginable — a Gibson ES-125, the budget hollowbody that serious players overlooked. He bought one because he had no money, and discovered that its raw, mid-heavy P-90 tone was exactly the sound nobody else had. His signature White Fang ES-125 TDC has been his primary guitar for decades, paired with a Fender Silverface Dual Showman and copper pipe slides cut by his tech. The Destroyers have played over 8,000 live shows since 1974 and the rig has barely changed.
