John Petrucci

American guitarist and co-founder of progressive metal band Dream Theater, formed in Boston in 1985. One of the most technically accomplished guitarists in rock — his playing combines classical precision with metal aggression across compositions of considerable complexity. Petrucci has had a signature relationship with Ernie Ball Music Man since the early 1990s, producing the JP series of guitars. He runs through Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ and JP-2C amplifiers and has collaborated with Dunlop on signature wah and crybaby pedals.
