Operation Ivy

Berkeley ska-punk band that existed for only two years but helped define the entire genre. Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman went on to form Rancid. Their sole album Energy is considered foundational to third-wave ska and sold over a million copies, almost entirely by word of mouth.
