Marshall 1960 4x12 Cabinet

The Marshall 1960 4x12 cabinet is the most iconic speaker enclosure in rock history, inseparable from the image and sound of the Marshall stack. Introduced in 1962 alongside the JTM45 head, the closed-back 4x12 design — loaded with Celestion speakers — produced a punchy, focused sound with massive low-end projection that no combo amp could match. Angus Young's wall of Marshall 4x12s became AC/DC's visual and sonic signature, delivering the tight, grinding rhythm tones of Back in Black and Highway to Hell. Available in angled (1960A) and straight (1960B) configurations, typically loaded with Celestion G12T-75 or Vintage 30 speakers. The 4x12 format has been copied by virtually every amp manufacturer but the Marshall original remains the standard by which all others are judged.
