Fu Manchu

Fu Manchu formed in Orange County, California in 1985 as a hardcore punk band before pivoting to the fuzz-heavy stoner rock sound that defined their career. Scott Hill's guitar tone — thick, downtuned, and drenched in fuzz — became one of the most recognizable sounds in the genre. The Action Is Go, King of the Road, and In Search Of are their essential records. They remain one of the most consistent live bands in the desert rock world, still touring and releasing albums decades after their formation.
