Yes formed in London in 1968 and became one of the defining progressive rock bands of the 1970s. Built around the virtuoso guitar of Steve Howe, the melodic bass playing of Chris Squire, the flamboyant keyboards of Rick Wakeman, and the ethereal vocals of Jon Anderson, the band created a sound of symphonic ambition and technical complexity that set a new standard for what rock music could attempt. The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge, and Tales from Topographic Oceans are cornerstones of the progressive rock canon. The band has continued through numerous lineup changes across five decades.
